Physical Therapist
Marty Mattox

Owner of Ultrahealth since 1986, Marty graduated from Texas Woman’s University in 1977. Marty is an athletic trainer, member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association, orthopedic and sports sections of the APTA, and a certified aquatics professional. She is currently on staff at UCSF School of Physical Therapy. Marty has extensive training in orthopedic and sports medicine, having taken year-long specialist orthopedic courses in the above areas. She directs her care with special emphasis on women's athletic injuries, aquatics and baseball. She has authored several articles on flexibility and “Little League Elbow”.
Marty is the mother of two boys, and continues to compete in age-group triathlons, amateur bicycle racing and open water swimming. She also finds time to surf with her boys. She qualified and competed in the Hawaiian World Championship Triathlon in 1989. Her involvement in competition and training places special emphasis in her care of the injured athlete.
Marty is also fluent in Spanish.
Devrie Brennan (On Summer Sebbatical)

Senior staff physical therapist at Ultrahealth, Devrie holds a Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of Miami. Having been a competitive gymnast, she brings her knowledge of sport to the specialization of orthopedic rehabilitation. Devrie has also done post graduate work in orthopedic physical therapy, having taken a year-long orthopedic manual therapy course, among other course work in the field.
Devrie has been at Ultrahealth since 1997, and is the Clinical Coordinator for physical therapy student interns at the facility.
Devrie is active in running, swimming, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, and cooking. She has completed in the Berryessa Open Water Swim, the San Jose Olympic Triathlon, runs half marathons and is the captain of an all women's running team in the Hood to Coast 200 mile relay race. All this while raising 2 young children. It can be done.
Jennifer Baron

Jennifer moved to San Francisco in 1999 after graduating with her Masters in Physical Therapy from MCP Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, PA. From the start, she has focused her work primarily in orthopedics/ sports medicine and recently joined Ultrahealth in December 2007.
During her practice, Jennifer has had the opportunity to work both backstage and in the clinic with many of the touring Broadway shows (The Producers, Wicked, The Lion King, Movin’ Out, Hairspray and A Chorus Line). As a former dancer, these opportunities re-connected her with the performance world. In addition to dance/ sports medicine and general orthopedics, she is pursing advanced manual therapy training through NAIOMT.
Outside of work, Jennifer has many interests : She is an avid traveler, enjoys a Saturday morning of yoga followed by the farmers market, loves to cook, and enjoys reading and listening to music.
Pinder Baidwan

Pinder believes that for the body to function optimally there needs to be the correct balance between joint stability and mobility. If there is an unbalance dysfunction, pain and compensation will occur. Ever since Pinder obtained her Master's of Physical Therapy degree from Samuel Merritt College in Oakland, CA in 1998 she has been treating professional and amateur alike to restore this balance and return to sport.
As a former gymnast, collegiate heptathlete and triathlete competing in multiple Wildflower Triathlon events she knows first hand what it takes to recover from injury both mentally and physically. This experience coupled with her extensive medical knowledge enables her to design custom rehab/ fitness programs tailor made for your body. She is also a Titleist certified golf fitness professional.
Pinder spends her free time chasing after her 2 year old son, swimming masters, cycling, skiing/ snowboarding and traveling.
Nicole Reiss

Nicole Reiss has just moved to San Francisco and recently graduated with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Gannon University in Pennsylvania. She completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada, where she worked with the varsity Women's Soccer and Field Hockey teams. She plays soccer and enjoys snowboarding, and as a new resident of the city would appreciate any restaurant recommendations.
Yoko Ray
Yoko is a licensed physical therapist who holds both a master and doctor of physical therapy (MPT/DPT) as well as manual therapy certification from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, and has been practicing manual therapy for more than six years. Yoko also achieved a first degree black belt in Okinawan Uechi-
ryu Karate and currently practices Aikido. Learning from her martial arts experience, she emphasizes the many benefits of core stability for all patients. Core stability guided Yoko through training in the STOTT method of Pilates, which she is eager to share with her patients as well as anyone who needs or desires better posture, balance, and core stability.

Kathy Burwell
Kathy Burwell is an occupational therapist with twenty-four years experience in medical and industrial rehabilitation. Since 1993, she has been doing ergonomic consultation and training programs for companies and individuals. Her focus is on prevention, early identification of ergonomic problems, training programs, and resolution of existing conditions. She has worked both in the medical insurance and workers compensation areas and private industry.

Janice Segall

Janice Segall is our head physical therapy aide. She has been with our PT group since 1995. Janice obtained her BS degree in special education from the University of Texas. She is certified in strength and conditioning training. She is an avid rock climber. She plays squash and competed professionally in racquetball and handball. Janice has recently qualified as a Master Gardener.

Mary Cantini

Mary Cantini is billing coordinator at Ultrahealth. She holds a BS in Physical Education from San Francisco State University. She has been at Ultrahealth since 1988, and is a specialist in billing and marketing.
Mary is an open water swimmer and is also an age-group competitive triathlete, runner, and enjoys birding and the outdoors. Mary is also a volunteer for the Gulf of the Farallones Marine Sanctuary and life member of the Dolphin Club in San Francisco.
