Physical Therapist
Marty Mattox

Owner of Ultrahealth since 1986, Marty graduated from Texas Woman’s University in 1977. Marty is an athletic trainer, member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association, orthopedic and sports sections of the APTA, and a certified aquatics professional. She is currently on staff at UCSF School of Physical Therapy. Marty has extensive training in orthopedic and sports medicine, having taken year-long specialist orthopedic courses in the above areas. She directs her care with special emphasis on women's athletic injuries, aquatics and baseball. She has authored several articles on flexibility and “Little League Elbow”.
Marty is the mother of two boys, and continues to compete in age-group triathlons, amateur bicycle racing and open water swimming. She also finds time to surf with her boys. She qualified and competed in the Hawaiian World Championship Triathlon in 1989. Her involvement in competition and training places special emphasis in her care of the injured athlete.
In 2008 Marty completed a course in the use of Kinesio Taping. For more information about Kinesio Taping please follow the link on our resources page. In 2009 she also became a certified pilates instructor.
Marty is also fluent in Spanish.
TJ Nguyen
TJ graduated from UC Davis and started his career doing genetic research at a private pharmaceutical company in Palo Alto. He then moved to New York City to continue with research at Columbia University. Eventually TJ moved back to San Francisco and continued with genetic research at UCSF. He changed directions in careers and decided to pursue physical therapy at Cal State Long Beach. Graduating in 2008, he has had experience with sports rehab, SCI, and TBI.
Besides physical therapy, his other passions include running, playing tennis, and hanging out with his Beagle/Lab mix Tobey. He also enjoys movies, cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
Tara Rasmussen

Tara Rasmussen is a native of the Bay Area. In 1997, Tara graduated from the University of Arizona in Tucson with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology. She then later earned her masters in physical therapy at Elon University in Elon, North Carolina in 2004. She has worked in multiple settings as a physical therapist, but her passion is in orthopedics. Tara also loves to go hiking with her dog named Lily.
Physical Therapy Aides
Janice Segall

Janice Segall is our head physical therapy aide. She has been with our PT group since 1995. Janice obtained her BS degree in special education from the University of Texas. She is certified in strength and conditioning training. She is an avid rock climber. She plays squash and competed professionally in racquetball and handball.
Mary Cantini

Mary Cantini is billing coordinator at Ultrahealth. She holds a BS in Physical Education from San Francisco State University. She has been at Ultrahealth since 1988, and is a specialist in billing and marketing.
Mary is an open water swimmer and is also an age-group competitive triathlete, runner, and enjoys birding and the outdoors. Mary is also a volunteer for the Gulf of the Farallones Marine Sanctuary and life member of the Dolphin Club in San Francisco.
Annie Greenley
Annie is Office Manager at Ultrahealth and has been with the clinic since 2009. She graduated from UC Davis with a BA in Sociology. In her free time, Annie enjoys running, traveling and gardening. She lives in Oakland with her cat, Utah.
